ABOUT GARETH
Gareth is a highly dedicated and motivated anthropologist with over 20 years of applied experience across Australia's Northern Territory. He has worked primarily at the interface between indigenous peoples, governments, parks agencies, the mining industry and other developers striving to ensure that engagement with indigenous communities occurs within a framework of social justice as well as cultural and social sustainability.
Gareth has developed broad experiences and networks across a variety of regions working with indigenous communities and three of the peak organisations in the field of Australian applied anthropology including the Northern Land Council, the Central Land Council and the Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority. This has equipped Gareth with a unique set of competencies ranging from self-sufficient remote fieldwork and ethnographic surveys to boardroom presentations and expert witness court appearances. Gareth is a member of the Australian Anthropological Society and has been a regular contributor at the society's annual conferences.
